India has ended its campaign at the World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 in Bangkok after Chandrika Pujari’s title victory in the women’s 51kg event. The tournament highlighted the growth of youth boxers in the nation competing on the international stage. India finished with five medals, one gold, three silvers and one bronze.

The participants in the event competed in Youth Olympic weight categories. India’s U-19 women’s team showcased some notable performances and made podium finishes while competing in the international event.

Pujari played a brilliant performance in the women’s 51 kg finals defeating Uzbekistan’s Mardonova Nazokat in an unanimous decision. Her technical skills and controlled gameplay delivered an impressive run in the event.

Besides Pujari, India won three silver medals in the women’s category. In the 48 kg category it was Gunjan who lost to her English team by 0-5. Joyshree Devi ended in second place in.the women’s 54kg division after losing to Guadalupe Ruiz of the United States by a score of 1-4. Meanwhile, in the men’s 50kg category, L. Ambekar Meetei won silver after losing against Ukraine’s Mykhailo Sydorenko.

Finishing the tally, India’s Radhamani Longjam won the bronze medal in the women’s 57kg category after losing in the semifinals. All the five boxers from India highlight the next generation of emerging talents that will lead the nation ahead in major events.

The World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 was held in Bangkok from March 8 to 15, featuring the promising young talents of India emerging in success and gaining recognition from their performances. With the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games upcoming, this tournament provided India’s rising talents a platform to perform their absolute best while competing on the international stage.
