Birmingham Phoenix Women on Wednesday, January 6, 2026, announced that they have retained Ellyse Perry for the 5th edition of The Hundred. Perry, the Australian women’s all-rounder, has been part of the Phoenix since the 2022 season. So far, she has amassed 545 runs in 22 matches played at a strike rate of 127.03 and has played her part well with the ball too.

In the last two seasons of Women’s Hundred, Phoenix finished in second last of the points table. Expressing her excitement about returning to Phoenix for the tournament’s fifth season, Perry believes the tournament is a major addition to the growth of cricket.
She said, “I’m delighted to be returning to Birmingham Phoenix for the 2026 season. The Hundred has been such a wonderful addition to the cricket landscape, and provided so many wonderful opportunities for the further development of the women’s game. The Phoenix has one of the most passionate fan bases in the competition, and it has been a true privilege to experience the home support at Edgbaston.”
Perry decided to withdraw from the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, citing personal reasons. She was part of the Australian Women’s 2025 ODI World Cup squad. They lost the semi-finals match to the Indian Women by five wickets. Perry finished her World Cup campaign with 175 runs scored in six innings at a strike rate of 80.64.
The 35-year-old Australian all-rounder, with 347 international caps to her name, is currently playing for Wellington Blaze in the ongoing Women’s Super Smash 2025-26. So far, she has scored 72 runs in three matches at a strike rate of 126.31. Ahead of that, she was part of the Women’s Big Bash League 2025. As part of the Sydney Sixers, Perry finished as the fourth-highest scorer with 412 runs scored in 10 matches at a strike rate of 141.09.
In 168 T20Is, Perry has scored 2173 runs at a strike rate of 116.82 and taken 126 wickets at an average of 18.92. She made her Test debut against England in 2008, and since then she has appeared in 14 matches and scored 930 runs at a strike rate of 45.58 and picked up 39 runs at an average of 21.82. Meanwhile, in 165 WODIs, Perry scored 4504 runs at a strike rate of 78.48 while taking 166 wickets at an average of 25.56.
The Women’s Hundred 2026 auction will be held in March and the tournament is scheduled to be held from July 21 to August 16.
