South Africa’s women’s cricket calendar is set for a landmark season, with high-profile tours and the return of red-ball cricket highlighting an exciting 2026/27 home schedule. The announcement by Cricket South Africa signals a significant step forward for the women’s game, with two major cricketing nations- India and Australia, set to tour, each featuring a rare and much-anticipated Test match.

The South Africa women’s national cricket team will first host India women’s national cricket team in December for a competitive multi-format series. The white-ball leg begins with a three-match ODI series, part of the ICC Women’s Championship, scheduled from 09 to 15 December. Matches will be played across Potchefstroom, Bloemfontein, and Cape Town, giving fans across regions a chance to witness top-tier international cricket.
The series will also feature a one-off Test match from 20 to 23 December at St George’s Park in Gqeberha marking a rare red-ball encounter between the two sides. This will be just the fourth women’s Test between India and South Africa, and notably only the second women’s Test to be hosted at the venue, underlining the growing revival of longer-format cricket in the women’s game.
The spotlight then shifts to 2027, when Australia women’s national cricket team will embark on a historic first-ever tour of South Africa. The multi-format series, running from 18 March to 11 April, promises to be one of the marquee events of the season.
Australia’s visit will begin with a three-match T20I series staged across Kimberley, Benoni, and KuGompo City, setting the tone for a fiercely contested tour. The action then transitions into the ODI format, with matches scheduled in Gqeberha, Paarl, and Durban as part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
A particularly significant fixture in the ODI series will be hosted at Kingsmead in Durban, designated as the “Black Day ODI.” This match will once again serve as a platform to raise awareness around gender-based violence (GBV), reinforcing cricket’s role in driving important social conversations.
The tour will culminate in a one-off Test match at JB Marks Oval from 08 to 11 April, marking only the second red-ball clash between South Africa and Australia. Their previous meeting in Test whites came in Perth in 2024, making this an eagerly awaited contest for fans of the format.
With two Test matches, multiple white-ball fixtures, and meaningful initiatives like the Black Day ODI, the 2026/27 season reflects a broader commitment to elevating women’s cricket. For South Africa, it is not just a schedule, it is a statement of intent to grow the game, provide greater visibility, and deliver world-class cricket on home soil.
