Japan, China, Both Koreas Reach AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Semi-Finals

The AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026 semi-finals lineup is all set and ready. A powerhouse of four teams has qualified for their respective quarterfinal matches to make it to the second-last stage of the tournament. The lineup includes DPR Korea, the Republic of Korea, China PR and Japan. All of these four teams have also earned their qualification for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026.

2006 champions China, reached the semi-finals after securing a hard-fought victory in their last eight tie over Uzbekistan by 2-1. The team will continue their run next by going against six-time winners Japan in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the 2024 runners-up, Japan edged past the group stage after defeating Vietnam in the quarter-finals by 4-1. On the other hand, two-time champions Korea Republic were resilient in their final eight-stage fixtures against Thailand and Park.

Both the semifinal matches are scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The first game is set between DPR Korea and Korea Republic which will be held at the Pathum Thani Stadium at 14:00 (02:00 UTC). The second game between China PR and Japan will be played at the Thammasat Stadium at 18:00 (06:00 UTC).

The tournament serves as the qualifying event for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, which will feature the top twelve U-20 national teams from Asia.
