India Women Wrestlers Win 5 Medals at Asian Wrestling Championships 2026

On the final day of the Asian Wrestling Championships 2026 in Bishkek, India ended its campaign adding two silver medals and one bronze. With that India’s medal tally went to 17 in total. The nation finished with two golds, six silvers and nine bronze medals across different categories.

India’s women’s freestyle squad added on silver and four bronze, while the men’s team contributed with two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes.

Two Indian wrestlers were competing for the gold on the final day but they lost in both the bouts. In the 61kg freestyle finals, India’s youngest Olympic medallist Aman Sehrawat lost to North Korea’s Kwang Myong Kim by 10-13. Meanwhile, in the 86 kg final, Mukul Dahiya was beaten by Iran’s Kamran Ghasempour with a score of 0-7, and ended up adding a silver to India’s medal tally.

On the final day, Dinesh secured a bronze in the 125kg freestyle category. He registered a dominant victory over Kyrgyzstan’s Arslanbek Turdubekov after defeating him by 12-1 to claim bronze.

India’s performance at the Asian Wrestling Championships 2026 reflected consistency and strong showcased from both freestyle and women’s wrestling teams. Finishing with 17 medals in the tally, India ended their continental campaign with dominant performances.
