Mirra Andreeva Wins Linz Open 2026 for Her Fifth WTA Career Title

Mirra Andreeva wins her second title of the 2026 season. On Sunday, April 12, the Russian tennis star won her title at the Upper Austria Ladies Linz Open 2026 title after defeating World No. 97 ⁠Anastasia Potapova of Austria by sets of 1-6, 6-4, 6-3. With the win, Andreeva became the third player on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tour to lift a trophy more than once this season.

The Russian had won the Adelaide International title in ‌January 2026 and has now won ‌five career ⁠WTA titles to her name. With next month’s French Open, she is coming off quite prepared for the tournament. The world No. 1 is now tied with Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula with two titles each won this year.

The Linz Open finals game lasted for an hour and 54-minute. In the first set Andreeva ‌made 14 unforced errors which was twice as many as Potapova did. The Austrian broke ‌Andreeva twice to get a 4-1 lead and went on to win the first set by 6-1. Striking back in the second set, the former ‌French Open semifinalist, went aggressive and got two breaks in a row to take the lead at 3-2 up and went on to seal the ‌set.

The 18-year-old ‌Andreeva proved decisive over the Austrian star and with that she is now with a 3-1 record in their head-to-head match.
