India’s Devika Sihag has ended her campaign at the 2026 Thailand Masters Super 300 Tournament with dominance. On Sunday, February 1, she won the women’s singles title at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok, beating her opponent Goh Jin Wei from Malaysia by sets of 8-21, 3-6. With the win, she is now the third Indian women’s singles player to win a title at the BWF Super 300+ after stalwarts Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu. In addition to that, the 20-year-old claimed her first World Tour title for India. Before her, it was Sindhu who won the 2024 Syed Modi International title.

For Sihag, the final victory was quite an easy one when faced against the Malaysian opponent. In the opening set, she dominated Jin Wei and restricted her from making a double-digit score to take the win by 21-8. Taking the momentum in the second set, the Indian entered with the same mindset, but it was the Malaysian who decided to walk over after sustaining an injury mid-game to leave the round at 3-6 and giving Sihag the win.

Sihag’s road to finals

Before becoming the champion, Sihag, ranked world No. 63, had a dominant run in the tournament by securing victory in five straight matches that included a massive victory over seeded players. However, the Indian gained attention from her quarterfinals clash, which resulted in her finals victory.

On Friday, January 30, Sihag registered her quarterfinals win over world No. 16 Supanida Katethong of Thailand after defeating the top-seeded player by sets of 21-19, 21-18 in a hard-fought clash. In the opening set, the Indian had a disappointing start, trailing at 1-7, but some unforced errors from Katethong got Sihag the needed comeback after levelling the match at 9-9 and eventually went on to win the game by 21-19.

After the win, Sihag secured her place in the semi-finals of the Super 300 tournament as the lone contender of India. On Saturday, January 31, the Indian went on to register a comfortable win over Chinese Taipei’s Huang Yu Hsun by sets of 22-20, 21-13. Sihag stunned the fifth-seeded in the 38-minute semi-finals clash. The win made her the fifth Indian women’s singles shuttler to make it to the finals match of the Super 300 event.

Sihag now joins the list of Olympic medallist Saina Nehwal, former world champion PV Sindhu, Malvika Bansod, and youngster Tanvi Sharma to reach the Super 300 event finals.
