The first half was dominated by England at 25-24, but the Ferns took the second half by storm. Player of the Match Toka Natua’s hat-trick got New Zealand their fifth World Cup title. Ferns’ Portia Woodman was the tournament’s leading try scorer.

For the very first time, the Black Ferns were out of the finals run of the 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup. Ireland ended their 20-match unbeaten streak to reach the semi-finals, where they were defeated by England. The Red Roses gave a dominant effort against Canada by a lead of 21-9 on 17th August, 2014. England’s centre Emily Scarratt was the leading scorer of the tournament with 70 points.
2010 – New Zealand Women’s Rugby World Cup Winner
England suffered their third consecutive World Cup finals loss to New Zealand at the 2010 Women’s Rugby World Cup. The Black Ferns defeated the Red Roses by 13-10 at the Twickenham Stoop. Kelly Brazier’s penalty kick in the 14th minute of the final game led the Ferns to their fourth successive World Cup title. Ferns’ Carla Hohepa was crowned IRB Women’s Personality of the Year. Ferns’ flyer Carla Hohepa and Canada winger Heather Moyse were tied as the tournament’s leading try scorers that year.
