On Monday, December 15, 2025, Manu Bhaker and Simranpreet Kaur Brar bagged gold medals in their individual events at the 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions held at Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi. Manu, a two-time Olympic medallist, won the senior women’s 25m sports pistol event, while Simranpreet became the Junior Women’s 25m sports pistol champion.

In the finals, Manu shot 36 to finish ahead of Karnataka’s Divya T.S., who ended in second with silver. Anjali Choudhary ended with the bronze medal with 28 hits. Rhythm Sangwan (22), Arshdeep Kaur (18), Annu Raj Singh (14) and Anuja Verma (11) finished in fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh positions respectively. Parisha Gupta did not qualify in the finals.
During the qualification round, Manu qualified in the fourth position with 581-19x. The top spot was claimed by Divya with a score of 587-22x, followed by Anjali Choudhary (582-19x) in second and Annu in third with 582-16x. Besides the top four, the remaining four included in the top eight were Parisha (581-14x), Rhythm (579-17x), Arshdeep and Anuja completing the top eight with 578-19x.
Meanwhile, in the junior women’s 25m pistol finals, ISSF World Cup Final 2025 gold medallist Simranpreet shot an impressive 39 to win the title and the gold medal. She defeated Dwaram Pranavi, who won silver. Haryana’s Palak finished with bronze with 20 hits. After losing in the shoot-off, Tanu Shree Tomar (19) finished in the fourth position. Sejal Raju Kamble (14), Megana Sadula (11) and Lavanya Kanwar (7) ended in fifth, sixth and seventh positions in the event.
Earlier in the qualification round, the top spot was claimed by Parisha, while Simranpreet was in second with 578-13x and Palak was in third at 575-14x. The list followed with Sejal (575-12x), Tanu (573-11x), Lavanya (572-17x), Megana (572-13x) and Dwaram (572-11x).
Other winners of the event
Apart from the individual categories, Maharashtra won the Women’s Team 25m Sports Pistol event and bagged the gold medal with a total score of 1726-40x. The team comprised members Shital Preetam Desai (577-12x), Abhidnya Ashok Patil (575-13x) and Rahi Sarnobat (574-15x). Meanwhile, the Army Marksmanship Unit team of Anuja Verma, Sejal Raju Kamble, and Anjali Bhagwat finished second with 1722-44x score. Haryana finished third with a score of 1718-43x from Rhythm Sangwan, Vibhuti Bhatia, and Tejaswani.
On the other hand, in the Junior Women’s Team event, the Army Marksmanship Unit were the declared winners, which included Sejal Raju Kamble, Jiya Jakhar, and Anjali Bhagwat who finished with a total score of 1714-38x. The Delhi team of Parisha Gupta, Kamakshi Kumar, and Naamya Kapoor finished in second position with 1714-36x. Simrampreet Kaur Brar, Agam Grewal, and Jasman Kelley, as part of the Punjab team, bagged the bronze medal with a score of 1709-40x.
