British tennis star Emma Raducanu has revealed that she is not looking for a new coach currently but is rather focusing on bringing back her aggressive self when she was young. The former US Open Champion had recently lost her last match to Croatia’s Antonia Ružić in the Round of 64 at the ongoing Dubai Tennis Championship 2026.

In the brief stint that she has played so far, Raducanu has trained under nine coaches, including her last with Francisco Roig. Under Roig, the Briton trained for around six months for the Australian Open 2026. Raducanu was, however, knocked out of the tournament following her defeat in the second-round match, which she lost to Austria’s Anastasia Potapova by sets of 7-6(3) 6-2.
The loss at the Australia Open has given Raducanu an eye-opener on working on her game ahead and bringing back the same skills as before. The 23-year-old is actively working on improving her skills alongside former British player Alexis Canter. Canter held a career-high ranking of 779 in 2025.
During a recent interview with The Guardian, Raducanu shared her thoughts on her coaching and mentioned her practice sessions with Canter.
“Right now I wouldn’t say I’m actively looking for a coach. I have Alexis in my corner. He knows me as a person. He knows me as a player and I’ve actually had some success with him in the past year. So it’s going well. I know the drills that I need to be doing… just repetition of doing those key fundamentals. I think I want to go back to that and a more aggressive style of playing,” she said.
In the first week of February 2026, Raducanu played against Oleksandra Oliynykova in a three-setter match at the Transylvania Open, making her first finals qualification after the 2021 US Open. The Briton, however, won just two games against Sorana Cirstea after losing in the first-round match due to a viral contact.
Raducanu is, however, preparing for the upcoming Indian Wells Open 2026, which is set to be held in March.
“I had really long effects for the last three weeks. I’ve been trying to clear them. So the Middle East trip was very difficult for me. I’m getting ready for Indian Wells and just trying to get back to full health. And I still have a bit of time, so I’m just looking forward to doing my best to be ready for that,” she added.
