The 2026 World Archery Para Series is the inaugural edition of the World Archery Para Series. It is an international ranking circuit with 5 stages, and Ahmedabad is currently hosting the 3rd stage from 5th September to 9th September, 2026.
At the tournament, reigning world champion Sheetal Devi reached her third consecutive individual final at the World Archery Para Series 2026 in Ahmedabad on Monday.
The youngster defeated her compatriot, Sarita, 145-143 in the women’s compound semifinal to secure her place in the title clash against Kazakhstan’s Aizada Seidan. In the previous two stages, which were held in Thailand and Czechia, Sheetal finished as runner-up and will now look to claim her first title on 9th September.
Earlier in the tournament, Sheetal, alongside Rakesh Kumar, set a new world record in the ranking round of the Para Mixed Compound team event, scoring 1400/1440.
While Sheetal has reached the finals, her compatriot, Bhawna, the two-time World Para Archery Series stage winner, experienced her first defeat in the tournament this year, losing in a shoot-off to Iran’s Somayeh Rahimi in the recurve semi-final.
The defeat ended what could’ve been a hat-trick of titles. Bhawna will now compete for a bronze medal against her compatriot Rajshri Rathod in what will be an Indian clash.
